Valetine's Day is over
Lisa and I went on our first date and traditionally celebrated February 11th instead of the 14th. What better way to express love that to give someone a bucket of calories to pad their fanny? I chalked up a trip to Kansas as registering as a substitute for celebrating. We travel very well together and it is really nice to finally be home again last night.
Here's a funny image: a man I know has parents who operate a flower shop. Valentine's being the consumer obligation it is, he helps them out for the busy days. Thing is, he bitterly hates the holiday and views it as entirely a heartless status quo rather than anything romantic or heartfelt. I thought that was hilarious and will think of that when I see a flower arrangement for quite some time.
