Life goes on

Having had cable for a couple of days already I can notice the difference in participating in the grand American culture it creates for us. A large body of things that helps people to relate to one another. Most of this I have literally been blind to for months. Not that it is a great and wonderful thing, but being able to appreciate the frame of reference of people I converse with is in itself a good thing.

Sometimes things like this make me think of the ancient astrologers or reglious pantheons that people would use to pass the time. I don't think those phenomena were much different in practice.
