Roots Be Gone

After a few weeks of work, it looks like we've got the front yard situation really under control. The roots are gone, the new shrubs are planted, the fertilizer is in the dirt, and the mulch is laid. Inspired, I even broke out the rake and took up a bunch of fallen leaves too. I've got the scrapes and pain in my back to prove it too.

We were really fortunate to not tackle a larger tree than we did. The roots did not go too deep and the project was not as involved as it could have been otherwise. I think next time we're going to plan before we act. This time seemed to be more step by step instead of having the vision before enacting the onset of the project. It came out great, I think, but we were pretty lucky to get it all together this way.

I am pleased. I hope to not see another root up close for a long, long time.
