Sad Cat

Our cat Autumn got on top of the refrigerator, which made us laugh. The next day she sat on my lap and I noticed she felt too skinny. We decided to take her to the vet on my day off from work. A few days later, the vet told us that she had lost a quarter of her weight from the last measurement.

Blood work indicated a severe condition for a cat, kidney failure. We had her hospitalized for the weekend, which returned most of her blood levels to normal. However, she is still anemic. I took her to the vet again for a follow-up, but there is no clarity and no further prognosis as of yet. We're hoping in a week she demonstrates improvement. Until then we have to give her medicine in her special dietary food, drops in her mouth, and our least favorite, fluid injections under her skin. It is a sad time for the cat. She has parts of her hair shaved off for medical procedures, we poke her with stuff every day, and she is still skinny and anemic.

So, we hope she get better and that these are not the last days of Autumn. She is not yet five years old. She was in the slideshow at our wedding.
