Go Giants

I happened to be in a bar in NY on the night of the final regular season game, where teh New England Patriots played the NY Giants on primetime to see if the Patriots could finish the regular season undeafeated. It was a much hyped match and a lot of attention paid to an otherwise meaningless game between playoff-bound teams. It was rather entertaining to see the crowd grow excited at the early success of the Giants the evening, but as the game wound down it turned in favor of the Patriots. Many joined in wishing them the fate of 16-1 and losing their first round playoff game.

Tonight the undo attention paid to a silly record is for naught. The Giants reserved their energies for the playoffs rather than the final regular season game. They claimed the Super Bowl victory in a game few gave them any hope of winning. I hope that satisfies all those Giants fans I watched sip their beer in misery several weeks ago.
