Rogue Waves Exist

The man who took this picture had no doubt about rogue waves of epic proportions, but scientists doubted the frequency and size of waves reported by sailors.
The aptly named Project MaxWave set out to end the debate with scientific study. The MaxWave results indicate waves as large as 28 meters (over 90 feet) and it was reported that over a 3 week timespan they observed 10 waves over 25 meters (over 81 feet).

Add rogue waves to the list of reasons I will never step foot on a ship heading out to deep sea.
