Some pharmaceutical companies have programs in place to reach out to patients who lack prescription drug coverage. For example, GlaxoSmithKline has a website called http://www.gskforyou.com/ that offers information, resources, coupons, and programs for patients depending on factors such as age and drug type (i.e. cancer medications). One such program is open to US residents without prescription drug coverage (insurance or Medicare), within a specified income range, covering around 50 drugs: http://www.bridgestoaccess.com/ boasts 415,000 patients benefited from this program in 2008.
