DVD Redux
Very recently we returned our DVD player for a replacement. We made sure to follow the letter of the instructions to the very end. We powered it completely to full charge before first use. We did not charge again until after the battery completely depleted. Then, well then... the battery never accepted power from any outlet and the device was useless (it also does not run while plugged into the wall so it would never power on ever again). It would have come in handy yesterday, as we drove to and from Carolina Beach for a nice day trip. With a couple of longer road trips looming in the near future, I made sure to get a replacement for the replacement.
At this point the Geek Squad at Best Buy knows me. They were nice in processing the replacement and offered no reason to explain my streak of bad luck. They reassured me we did nothing wrong and were simply the victim of a series of poor batteries. I asked if it were possible the manufacturers sold refurbished goods and the associate processing my checkout said that practice was illegal.
We'll see how the new device holds up. Two different brands cannot both have the same streak of bad luck, can they?!
