Happy Birthday

Lisa's parents came to town to celebrate Sonya's third birthday. We decorated the house with streamers and helium-filled balloons. Lisa made a chocolate cake and covered it with white icing and fruit. A neighbor came over with her son (others that were invited were all on vacations). It was a small party, which was probably better because it never got out of hand despite how excited the kids got.

After the neighbors left we opened all of Sonya's presents from out of town relatives. She loved them all, especially the fairy dress and pink dress which she tried on then and there. Lisa spotted deer in our backyard, the first time we ever saw deer in this neighborhood.

After a healthy 2+ hour nap (that I enjoyed too) we went to Chili's to eat dinner. I parked next to Durham Mayor Bill Bell's Jaguar (his license plate reads BILL BELL) and our table was next to his, where he sat alone with a baseball cap on while he ate. Sonya got a scoop of ice cream for desert and they sang her happy birthday. After dinner we fed the neighbor's rabbit and spent a couple of minutes with their cat (they are out of town).

Sonya danced in the living room and player with her balloons. It seemed like she enjoyed her birthday.
