Dylans in MLB
According to baseball-reference.com there has never been a MLB player named Dylan. There have been 12 minor league players (of which five were still active as of 2009).
Under the alternate spelling, there have been five MLB players with the last name Dillon, and quite a few minor leaguers of which five have the first name Dillon (two still active as of 2009).
There is one middle name, using Dillon spelling, a Hall of Fame MLB manager: Casey Stengel. He was the only person to wear the uniform of all four classic NY teams; the Brooklyn Dodgers, NY Giants, Mets, & Yankees. Stengel was best known for Stengelese, a precursor of Yogi-isms, and managing the Yankees through a historically successful time.
