Gruff Story
I'm posting this story only because Lisa enjoyed the moment and I wanted to remember her enjoying it.
Our neighbor gave us two pool passes for the club pool. I thought they would be punch cards but instead each was a card with a little line on the bottom to indicate the number of people in the party and the date. When we arrived at the entrance the teenager took both cards from Lisa and mumbled something. I interjected that he only needed to take one card and he said there were two of us (he ignored the kids) so he needed two cards. I pointed out the card has a spot to list the number of people. He replied it had no number. I said, "You want me to write a number there?' He conceded and gave a card back. Lisa smiled. I was probably a little too gruff after having worked a long day and I was probably too tired to be trifled with a teenager at all, let alone arguing with one. Lisa smiled several times at the pool and twice leaned over to whisper, "You want me to write a number there?" I suppose she thought it was a funny line and/or a funny moment, so here's the blog post to record it.
