Phonics

Sonya is learning how to write and of course falling into use of phonics for learning how to spell. Part of her homework assignments are to write down words she already knows. We let her spell as she thinks and then go over any corrections with her. The assignment called for writing the name of a grandparent... she wrote: "Grim Rosi"

I think that's a fine name for a heavy metal band or horror movie, but not quite the "Grandmother Rosemary" spelling she aimed for!
