Google Ngram Viewer
Before yesterday I had not seen the Google Ngram Viewer before. I have yet to stumble on the best anthropological usage, but the point is the site charts word usage among the scanned books in the Google index. Fascinating technology. Check it out at http://books.google.com/ngrams.

Sweet! I seem to remember seeing this come up in a class or something somewhere, but I never tried it out. The coolest-looking graph I came up with so far is for "war."
