First Post
OK, here goes nothing. My first BLOG post. Watch out Internet here I come.
This made me think of other firsts that I could remember. I remember my first lesson in how to tie a tie. It came from an uncle in South Bend before a funeral. This made me remember my first wake. It was over the summer between third and fourth grade when a friend had died in a car accident on his family vacation. Enough with depressing firsts already... I remember my first day of high school. I was uncontrollably nervous and practically ran to my first classroom. For some reason I was paranoid about getting lost in the school? I remember my first apartment in South Bend and how much fun it was to escape the dormitory life. I remember my first date with Lisa. We went to Applebee's and the waitress was also named Lisa. I talked too much and as my mouth ran on and on I thought to myself that I should stop acting so foolishly. I remember my first full-time job, fundraising for nonprofits door to door, and my first donation. The old woman politely told me that I must not be doing so well if she was my first donor. It was so biting at the time, funny to recall it now though. I remember the first day I returned from work to find Lisa had brought home a kitten. Autumn soon curled up on my chest and fell asleep. I guess that won me over right there. I remember voting for the first time in Beacon, managing to master the bizarre pulley and switch-ridden contraption without stooping to requiring assistance. I remember voting for president for the first time in 1996. I was in Indiana and registered in New York and had to complete a form with a number two pencil and mail in my inconsequential vote for Ralph Nader. I remember my first car. It was a baby blue Buick inherited after the death of my grandfather. My friends dubbed it the Enterprise and made me drive them around for hours. I remember the first time I ran out of gas, in front of the deli next to TNT pizza in Glenham.
Will I remember my first blog post? Will anyone else?
