Blog 101
People ask me what a blog is. As I think on it now, there seems three applications for the phenomenon:
1) guys like me typing away, sharing opinions and stories as they see fit
2) sites devoted to reporting on or debating issues, as we saw happened to Dan Rather, these serve as a specialized and biased filter of the Internet
3) undercover reporting within ortanizations by people that are normal folk, not journalists, these are usually related to government and never given the real name of the author
For my part, this seems a fun exercise to get out some ideas and have a little niche of the Internet to call my own. I could report on the inside scoop at my business or devote my entire focus to say baseball, but neither would really be satisfactory enough fo rme to sustain an interest in posting all the time.
