Accept suffering

After a coworker told me some personal things at work the other day, I felt rather dismayed on the drive home. I felt a desire to remove their pain. Suddenly I realized that this is not only impossible, but a fruitless thought to bear. I cannot remove what was done in the past, nor can anyone else. What I can do is to inject positive energy and momentum, to try and balance out the negative. I can move forward in my slight way. It might not be much, or at all effective, but that is all that I can do. Suffering is a core experience in life. Suffering is espoused in major religions. Suffering is human. I cannot prevent the suffering of others nor remove the scars and memories that pain creates. I can provide a positive outlet for upbeat conversation and try to invigorate them with the joy that we all should have in our daily lives.

Just a thought.
