Here come the Irish

Number six in the nation now and there is complaints Notre Dame does not deserve a BCS Bowl? This team came with seconds of beating a team that not have beaten in three years. They set numerous school records with an explosive offense.

I heard a commentator mention their schedule as a bad thing. Chiefly because of the records of their opponents. At the onset of the season, ND had three of the top four ranked schools on their schedule. They literally knocked people out of contention. The current rankings reflect this reality. This is a team that is six points away from being undefeated and ranked first in the nation. That is not an excuse, that is reality. Critics cite the draw power of the nationally recognized blue and gold as earning the team a bowl they do not deserve. If this were true the team would not have gone years without playing in a Bowl Game. But Brady Quinn is nominated for top QB in the nation for a reason and Charlie Weis is mentioned as forerunner in Coach of the Year for a reason. The team is good and they deserve a shot at a respectable Bowl Game.

Personally, a shootout with Oregon would be great fun to watch, especially if ND can reverse the outcome of their last matchup against Oregon!

Yeah, did you see all those guys ganging up on Lou Holtz on ESPN after the game when they were arguing about whether ND deserved a BCS game? Lou was sticking up for us, and the rest of the guys were just acting like haters. They were trying to say Ohio State deserved the game more than we do. Come on, we would smoke the Buckeyes in a head-to-head matchup, which we actually might have in the Fiesta Bowl anyway. So bring 'em on. After playing two sketchy games against crappy teams, our boy Chuck won't let the Irish slack off for a BCS game. Let's go!
