A girl cries in anguish. A prayer is spoken. Thunder rips through the clouds and the earth tears open. Behold, the Pale Rider.

Pale Rider stars Clint Eastwood in an old Western revenge-styled movie. The plot also dabbles its toes into good and evil with a notion of theology. The Pale Rider has bullet holes ridden through his vest, has be been resurrected to answer this young girl's prayers? Is he just a passer-by that sought his own slice of redemption for his own vices? The film is crisp and allows a rather delightful film to unroll on the screen. The depth of the characters comes to pass in due time and I will always remember the earnest acting done in the scene around the campfire where the miners discussed their best courses of action.

Well worth the watch, Pale Rider surprised me with depth at least twice and remained a very engaging and enjoyable film throughout.
