Bad Dream

One night this week I had a bad waking dream. It went something like this...

I came across a man standing over a figure strapped into a table. The captive was subdued with psychotropic drugs (somehow I knew this) and the man stood over him bearing a large nailgun. This was apparently some perverse experiment meant to replicate a stigmata experience for the captive. I drew my machinegun (?!) and fired several bullets at the man. They hit, but he turned his nailgun towards me and I was forced to flee. I ran down stairs away from him, reloading along the way.

So I interpreted this vision to mean something about recent thoughts about Christianity (reference the blog post about "Secret Knowledge"). The man represents false religious experiences perpetrated as reality. I compulsory responded with something that should rightfully be enough to kill the thing then and there. Instead it devolves down further and further, requiring more ammunition. There was no ending. It was frustrating.

I think that this represents my mode of emotion at the release of the Da Vinci Code film. It saddens me when people have more faith in a fictional novel than the history, Church, or the religion it draws inspirations from.
