New Lawnmower

After we bought our first house my father insisted on buying me a lawnmower. I asked him not to but he did it anyway. When I saw it the first time I told him the handle was too low. That might seem an exaggeration, but it is something to see to believe. He tried to modify the mower. This resulted in the following photos, documenting his efforts to correct the handle height. This is the type of stuff you could not make up if you tried.

The modified handle was sharlpy angled and bounced. In fact, you could only pull the mower because pushing it bent the handle at the loose angle. One side was tied up with a TV wire.
The other side is bolted to a rusty shard of metal (we do not know where it came from).

When I actually needed to use the mower I undid the modifications, fearing for my own safety. The handle is still ridiculously low though, it barely clears my knees. I am considering getting something to replace it. I thought to modify a used mower by replacing the engine with this newer engine and thought of these pictures again. Too funny to not share!
