Why?

Yesterday Sonya began to ask why. Lisa told Sonya the store did not have the shoes she liked in her size and Sonya asked why. Later that day she asked why a few other things happened. It chilled my veins to realize this escalates the responsibility of being a parent, having to come up with reasons for all manner of things and the possibility that she understands much more about the world than I might expect. It's also challenging given the language barrier, trying to decipher her words is sometimes tricky.
