Princess Ta-da
Our little girl likes to wear dresses and run up with a scream of "Ta-da" - showing off her look. I decided to call her Princess Ta-da and relay a few of her other characteristics at two and a half.
It was about a week ago I caught her applying make-up in the bathroom. By applying I mean rubbing black mascara across her forehead in a thick bar. Today I caught Princess Ta-da eating toothpaste. We've learned to keep an eye on the bathrooms. She has mastered doors and likes to unlock and lock them. Today I heard her calling for me from the front porch.
She likes honey on bread. In fact, she is quite content to eat bread with honey and drink water for a meal. She loves walking/riding to the tunnel passing from one side of the paths to the other underneath the Parkway. We yell inside to make echoes. She's into running but would rather do so without supervision anymore. She can "read" books by herself in her room and enjoy it.
She's quick to make friends at the playground. She's still littler than most of the kids and it astonishes us every time a child helps her climb something or get down. She seems to operate well around tikes smaller/younger than her - we usually do not have to worry about physicality unless she is tremendeously excited (like when out of town friends are around).
Altogether, I appreciate her personality. We both see much of ourselves in her, but she favors her mother more than her father. I believe I gave her the genes that make for a more relaxed energy level than a lot of children her age. She has a lot of energy of course, but she also can spend a lot of time being quiet.
