My parents visited over Easter weekend on their long drive back to NY. My mother talked about the early hours Sonya kept but that she rose earlier in the morning. It came out thus:

I beat Sonya up every day.

When asked she repeated:

I beat her up every day. I beat Sonya up every day.

I enjoyed watching her realize the sentence meant something different.
