Bad Yankees

How bad are the Yankees?

After 30 games the pitching staff has allowed 190 runs scored, which averages to 6 and one-third runs per game. It is a pace to exceed 1000 runs allowed for the season. In MLB history only 18 teams allowed more than 1000 runs, of which 7 were 19th century teams and only 2 were in my lifetime (1996 Tigers and 1999 Rockies).

The offense produced 167 runs (5.57 per game), but the baseball adage goes; good pitching beats good hitting.
