Yankees Fans
In the first game of the World Series, Phillies starter Cliff Lee dominated the Yankees. It was not a fun game for me to watch. In the 8th inning, in the midst of my misery, my daughter popped into the room. It was very late, but I decided to allow her to sit with me and watch the end of the game. I believe this is the first experience we have watching baseball on television together and it really was a nice moment for me, a memory I will not soon forget.
She told me something like, "not tonight, but tomorrow we go see the Yankees?" I really enjoyed her interest and tried to explain that the Yankees play in New York. Having no other context to relate that to her, I explained that is where Pop-pop and Grandma live. She's been on our long car rides there so she knew it was far away. I told her we could see Wool E. Bull (Durham Bulls) next year if she wanted.
The next day I received the following email from Lisa:

"My Daddy is going to take me to see the Yankees where Pop-pop lives." :)She may perceive any cursive writing as 'Yankees' and might consider all baseball teams as 'the Yankees' - or she might not like baseball that much, but I look forward to having something fun to share together and hope that it lasts for a long time.
This she tells me while she is doing a Dora puzzle, totally out of context with baseball, but obviously it was on her mind.
