Basketball Game

Monday night Sonya and I took Lisa's father to see probably the best women's basketball game available this year; Duke vs. UNC at Cameron Indoor Stadium. As soon as we entered the building my lovely daughter complained about the noise. It is a cramped arena for a large crowd and the sound does get loud. Sonya perked up as soon as I offered her popcorn and Sprite.We had great seats (thanks to the usher) a few rows back from the front of the upper ring, behind a basket. The crowd was very enthusiastic and the game was very exciting. It was also great to see Duke pommel UNC!

I always feel bad when I see a women's basketball game. These are two of the top teams competing for the important ranking used in the Final Four. The schools are a few miles apart, intense rivals, and both programs ranked high this year. If this game could not fill the Duke facility I doubt any women's basketball game ever would. This does make it easier to find good tickets to see good basketball, so I should be thankful for that. Unfortunately my daughter's frequent complaints whenever the game started back up from a break were that she wanted to see the cheerleaders dance. For that I should be thankful to have a son too.
