theladders.com

theladders.com, an job search site for high paying jobs, has provocative commercials running nationally.

I discovered the site does a bait and switch. Instead of operating like monster.com and hundreds of other job search sites where job seekers pay nothing and employers bear the costs, theladders.com requires a costly premium membership to make a resume visible to employers and to apply for jobs listed. Even better, these jobs are not theladders.com findings by a long shot, everything I saw was pulled from other job posting sites;, theladders.com grabs jobs from other sites and simply cuts out the low paying jobs from the list. There is a value for this service, but not enough to justify $35 for a 1 month membership nor $180 for an annual membership. Literally each job posting I located for free with a few extra minutes time on targeted Google searches.

Or as one comment I read online put it more aptly:
Any time an applicant is expected to pay for a referral, it is a rip off.

Are there so many great paying jobs unfilled that corporate America needs a website running nationwide ads to attract job applicants? Unlikely given the ads reach millions of viewers...

The job seeker advice for was good in the 2 articles I read. Hopefully that was not also borrowed content. However daily emails recommended I upgrade my account, until I deleted my account.
